THE RIDGEFIELD CONSERVATORY OF DANCE
The Ridgefield Playhouse lineup of holiday shows is so good we almost recommend camping in the lobby (just kidding, but really it’s that good!) Start off with the ballet classic, The Nutcracker with Tchaikovsky’s beautiful score and all the grace and whimsy of the Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance ballerinas. Then, treat yourself to “The Italian Broadway Christmas Show”, a comical concert, and holiday hit, featuring Carnegie Hall headliner Anthony Nunziata as he serenades you with his soaring tenor voice singing timeless songs from the Italian, Broadway and Holiday repertoires. Expect such classics as “O Sole Mio,” “Somewhere,” “Funniculi, Funnicula,” “The Christmas Song,” and other fun ditties. You’ll be in the mood to laugh after warming up with Anthony’s opening act, comedian Kevin Bartini, whose lightning fast wit has made him one of the most sought after audience warm-up comics in television. Stick around the following day, and simmer down like a stick of cinnamon in hot apple cider with “Christmas With The Celts”, first seen as a PBS-TV special. This show will transport you to the holiday traditions of the Emerald Isle, and combines ancient Irish Carols, contemporary Christmas standards, humor and thrilling Irish dance.
See some beautiful lights illuminating the night. Our Connecticut is home to some of the most luminous displays in New England. Enjoy a festive, choreographed light show from the windows of your car at the Holiday Lights Spectacular at the Amp, or enjoy a bundled-up walk at the Holiday Stroll in Stamford. There’s also a website where you can find all of the DIY, neighborhood light displays, including the famous Wonderland of Roseville. Go pay tribute to the hours of work families have put into these charming displays!
