24 Hour Emergency Service
3-2-1…HAPPY NEW AIR! Fairfield County, CT, it’s time for a fresh start in 2021. Freshen up your home’s IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) this year with an Indoor Air Quality test (complimentary to all customers with service agreements) and make your home safer for you and your family for years to come. Better IAQ is a New Year’s resolution we know you can keep! It’s chilly outside, but we’re all spending more time at home these days no matter the weather. Our homes are not only our sanctuaries, they’re the place we spend most of our time. There’s no better time to invest in the air you and your loved ones breathe. Though invisible, airborne particulates such as mold, mildew, bacteria and viruses can present and exacerbate a number of health issues, and just because you can’t smell them (like you often can in the case of mold and mildew) doesn’t mean they aren’t there. So how can you know whether you’re breathing clean indoor air or not, and if not, what can you do about it? Just like you’d break down a New Year’s resolution to make it more manageable, let’s break it down into steps. Step one: Call Climate Care for an Indoor Air Quality test. Customers with a service agreement receive a complimentary IAQ test. What we find will help determine your best game plan for a total IAQ Makeover in 2021.

Let Climate Care Clean Your Ducts

Pursuing great IAQ while leaving your HVAC ducts dirty is an oxymoron. The inner workings of your HVAC system can collect dust, debris, and all the airborne particulate offenders mentioned above. Every time you turn on your HVAC system, your home (and nasal passageways, and lungs) fills with the air coming through your vents. The air filter in your furnace is the first line of defense in removing debris from the air. Your furnace’s air filter needs to be cleaned or replaced at least every three months. Our cleaning process removes debris and sanitizes, creating instantly better IAQ in your home.

Now, Keep It Clean

Once your ducts are clean, you’re going to want to keep them that way. Help them stay cleaner longer by graduating to filters with higher quality, tighter weaves. We can introduce you to filters with higher MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) ratings, making sure to stop before you get too high (higher than a MERV 8 could possibly provide too much filtration and cause airflow restrictions.) We can guide you to the best filter for your ducts. You’ll likely notice the difference with every deep, cleansing breath.

What Else Can You Do?

There are a few things you can do to be proactive about your home’s IAQ. Green plants are natural air cleansers. Make sure to choose a vacuum with sealed system technology and a HEPA filter. When you dust, be sure to use a damp cloth or dust-trapping microfiber, to prevent the dust from going right back into the air you breathe. If possible, vent your clothes dryer to the outside. Fix any plumbing leaks to prevent mold growth. We know it’s important to you that you and your family are breathing the cleanest air possible. We at Climate Care will go above and beyond to help you achieve that goal. Call us at (203) 354-2020, or visit us at our website. Here’s to your health in the New Year, and beyond.
